Who painted this in oil on canvas?

I saw an exquisite painting recently but neither the owner nor I have any idea who painted it.

* It's the heads of a man and a woman. The woman is looking up into the man's eyes and he's looking into her eyes while the fingers of her hand caress his cheek

* The figures are not drawn life like - instead the man's head almost resembles Michangelo's David's head

* The figures are painted as it they were carved out of marble

* The owner seems to think it's Romeo and Juliet, but he's not sure

* It's oil on canvas

* About 3 feet long and 2 feet tall

* It's done in browns

* The paint has a very ';rough'; texture to it - it's not smooth - almost like tiny globules/shards of paint stuck together on a large canvas

Any idea whodunnit and what it's called?Who painted this in oil on canvas?

Kind of like the Auguste Rodin sculpture, The Kiss

*Reminds me of Francesco Hayez ~ The Kiss, 1859 and The Last Kiss of Romeo and Juliet, 1823.
