What oil-based medium can I use on acrylic paint to act as a resist?

This is for an abstract painting I'm working on.What oil-based medium can I use on acrylic paint to act as a resist?
There aren't any resists that work really well with acrylics because of its viscosity, unless you use a very watery mixture, or airbrush.

If you want a temporary resist, masking tape will work, and MacTac for larger areas. You may have to cut around the edges with an Xacto knife to keep the paint from peeling up from where you want it.

For a permanent resist, I have used Parafin Wax or wax crayons - be advised it doesn't completely resist, the paint will pool up in some areas but it looks very cool. I've actually tried mineral oil and other strange things but nothing seems to work unless the paint is watercolour-consistency.

Good luck - have fun! What oil-based medium can I use on acrylic paint to act as a resist?
You might find it easier to use art tape (assuming you're working a canvas) and lay it on the area that you wish to remain unpainted...you might also be able to apply resist but large areas could be rather expensive to cover.
