Should you use oil-based or latex when painting kitchen cabinets?

Prime with an oil base primer by Zinnser. Top coat with latex.Should you use oil-based or latex when painting kitchen cabinets?
I painted mine last year and I used kilz primer first (with mildew protection ) and I used latex paint! It's holding up great. I used semi-gloss finish too! I cant stress enough quality paint though. Behr is great.Should you use oil-based or latex when painting kitchen cabinets?
Prime first then see if you can find a Cabinet paint, stay away from Shiny though a soft gloss looks better, If you use Oil base its gonna yellow eventually from the heat in the kitchen and touch ups wont match up, If you use latex its not gonna be as tough but touching up is simple, Plus Oil smells...
Oil is better since it wards off moisture better and it is easier to clean
i am a painting contractor and i work in the luxury home market and 100% of the kitchens we do are oil based both with the primer and the topcoat....for primer we use kilz and for the topcoat we use two coats of Benjamin Moore Satin Impervo.
Oil based enamel paint, over a primed wooden surface.
