Canvas only for oil paints? Confused?

So, about 2 years back in high school we painted on a canvas using Acrylic paints. We went through the whole process and now I want to make some paints myself, but I just read that Canvases are only for oil paints? If that's the case, why? I still have the painting from 2 years ago and it's in perfect condition still.

Thanks!Canvas only for oil paints? Confused?
Canvas is for both oil and acrylic. Have fun with whatever paint you want. You can even glue things down on canvas and it will stick.Canvas only for oil paints? Confused?
That is not the case.
Either oil or acyrlic is fine. Just remember not to paint acyrlic over oil. This will ruin your work. Oil over acrylic is o.k. Some painters use a cheap acyrlic paint for aa underpainting than finishthe piece with oil.
canvas is also good for acrylic paints. the majority of artists use canvas as a support for oil, however, it can also be used for acrylic.
